Folder Monitoring for PDF to DOCX
A file watcher that converts every new PDF to Word, automatically.
Folder monitoring lets PDF2DocBot watch any directory for new PDFs and convert them to DOCX automatically. Whether the folder is local, on Google Drive, on a network share or on an FTP server — every new PDF that lands inside is processed within minutes.
What is folder monitoring?
Folder monitoring (also called file watching or auto-scan) is a feature that continuously checks a directory for new files and acts on them. With PDF2DocBot, the action is conversion: every new PDF gets turned into an editable Word document, automatically, with no human intervention.
Supported folder types
Connect any of the following: local upload folder, Google Drive folder (OAuth), SMB / Windows shared folder, SFTP server, WebDAV (Nextcloud, Dropbox via WebDAV, ownCloud). Each folder has its own scan interval, conversion engine, and output destination.
Configurable scan intervals
Choose how often the scanner checks for new files: every 5 minutes (Pro plan), every 15 minutes, every hour, or daily. Lower intervals mean faster conversion turnaround. Pro users get the fastest 5-minute polling for near-real-time conversion.

FAQ
How is folder monitoring different from manual upload?
Manual upload requires you to drag files into the app every time. Folder monitoring runs in the background — once configured, you never touch the app again. PDFs you save to the folder get converted automatically.
Does it convert files that were already in the folder?
Yes. On the first scan, all existing PDFs in the folder are converted. After that, only new files are processed.
Can I monitor a folder on Google Drive shared by my team?
Yes. Once you connect Google Drive via OAuth, you can pick any folder you have access to, including shared team drives.
